HOW DO I REPAIR PULLED LOOPS ON A WOOL RUG?

September 24th, 2009 | Tags: , , , , ,

My cat kneads a nap carpet curtain as well as has pulled loops up. The loops have been not broken, though we know they shouldn’t be cut. On a nap sweater, a needlework needle can be used to pull a pulled loops to a pick side, though a carpet is some-more densely woven with a filigree backing. How do we pull a loops behind through? Or is there an pick to repair this? Thanks!

If you have a loop here and there. Just a few. On a tight rug you can just snip off the high part. If its lots of loops or a bunch in one area you do the same as a sweater. Use a knitting needle to fix. Once your are done, put Elmer’s glue on the back to seal in the wool.
